CHICAGO, IL – November 16, 2021 – Yesterday, the 10th annual Fashion Film Festival Chicago announced the winning recipients in its competition categories. Awards were given in the following competition categories: Narrative, Documentary, Experimental, Eco-Sustainable, Animated, Accessory, Essence of Fashion, Comedy, and Creative Concept.
a:dress (Clare Unsworth) was honored with Narrative Gold and Eco Sustainable Gold, #WATERMATTERZ (Cherie Birkner) was awarded with Narrative Silver and Eco Sustainable Silver, Maybe (Jordi Clusella) and My Perfect Pair (Laura Sicouri) were co-winners of Narrative Bronze, and Kim Malygin. One Man Manufactory (Artem Ivanov) was awarded the Eco Sustainable Bronze award.
Bally Peak Outlook 2020 Expedition | Preserving the world’s mountains (Giampaolo Scapigliati) received Documentary Gold, Inside Balmain – Behind the scenes of Balmain’s Resort 2021 (Gabriel Popoff) was awarded Documentary Silver, and The United States of Elie Tahari (Short) (David Serero) was awarded Documentary Bronze.
For tomorrow is a Dream (Kristian van Kuijk) was awarded Experimental Gold, Virtual Reality (Nadia Anderson & Paulina Pikulinski) received the honor of Experimental Silver, and Genki dama (Hiromi Shimabukuro) received the Experimental Bronze award.
Cut From Home (Aaron Fisher) received the award for Best Animated film, Daily (Vincent Groen) received the award for best celebration of Accessory in film, Flow with Life (Adam William Wilson) was awarded best Creative Concept, MIMI (Liam Cheng) was honored with the Essence of Fashion award, and The Casting (Laura Sicouri) received the season’s Comedy award.
“It’s been a difficult and challenging time for filmmakers, designers, actors, and the teams that support the art of fashion film. We are so very proud to honor the perseverance and dedication that many of them displayed while navigating the demands and obstacles which arose as a result of the pandemic,” said Patsy Campbell, Festival Director. “Each of this year’s honorees truly embody the spirit of the entire creative community.”
This year’s official selection and awards coterie represented the most diverse line-up of creators in the Festival’s 10 year history.
Founded in 2012, Fashion Film Festival Chicago is an annual festival and competition which aims to celebrate the beauty and art of fashion as captured through and interpreted by the filmmakers’ lens.
