A 26-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded in the 1400 block of West 65th Street
Three people were shot Thursday in Chicago, including a man seriously wounded in Englewood on the South Side.
Someone fired shots at the 26-year-old about 9:30 p.m. as he walked in an alley in the 1400 block of West 65th Street, Chicago police said.
He was struck in the back and abdomen and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, according to police.
A 35-year-old man was shot in a parked vehicle Thursday afternoon in Washington Park on the South Side.
Another vehicle pulled alongside him and someone from inside fired shots about 2:40 p.m. in the 300 block of East 53rd Street, police said.
The man was struck in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with injuries that appeared non-life-threatening, according to police and Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Merritt.
In the day’s first reported shooting, a 33-year-old man was shot in Chatham on the South Side.
He walked into the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his leg and was listed in fair condition, police said. He told officers he was shot about 1 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.
Five people were shot Wednesday citywide.
