Beer Under Glass Returns August 27, Tickets on Sale July 23

The Beer Under Glass event, a festival and fundraiser hosted by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, makes a belated return to the Garfield Park Conservatory August 27.
Much of this following copy is from the ICBG news release: “Traditionally a cornerstone of Illinois Craft Beer Week, Beer Under Glass was canceled last year out of concern for the health and safety of our member brewers, staff, volunteers, and attendees. With the Chicago economy now fully reopened, the festival returns with minor adjustments to promote social distancing and the wellbeing of guests and staff.”
General admission tickets for what’c called the “Beer Under Glass Special Edition” are $75 and will be available beginning on Friday, July 23, at www.illinoisbeer.org/bug. Members of ImBIBE, the ICBG’s enthusiast program, get early access to tickets beginning Tuesday, July 20. There is no VIP ticket or early entry this year, and the festival will continue rain or shine.
Garfield Park Conservatory is located at 300 N Central Park Ave., Chicago.

There will be two tasting sessions: Session 1 will be 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.; and Session 2 at 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. Each session will allow 1,000 attendees, to maintain social distancing. Approximately 70 Illinois breweries will be present, pouring tasters.
Now in its 11th year, Beer Under Glass traditionally marked the start of the Illinois Craft Beer Week in April. It, and ICBW, was cancelled last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Illinois Craft Beer Week returned in a reduced format this past April. Spokesperson Julie Thorson noted that they will hope to tie the two events together in 2022.
Proceeds will benefit the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, which supports the Garfield Park Conservatory and its educational mission; and the ICBG.
