Biden’s response to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is too late, way too little.
President Joe Biden’s sanctions against Putin’s invasion of Ukraine fails to deploy America’s strongest weapon: Energy independence.
This isn’t hard to understand this advantage, but it appears to have escaped Biden’s notice. America has some of the most abundant oil and natural gas resources in the world. The biggest worry of NATO nations is their dependence on Russian energy. America could help immensely by re-energizing the fossil fuel industry that Biden has tried to crush from Day One.
Not a single mention did Biden make of this possibility in his address to the nation today. Not now or in the future. Critics are questioning the effectiveness of his finance and banking restrictions and their immediate effectiveness. I don’t know about that, but it’s a huge disappointment that he’s not using the clear advantage of superior energy resources.
