As we approach the upcoming NBA trade deadline, not a day goes by where we don’t see some Chicago Bulls trade rumors. They’re everywhere. No matter where you get your NBA news, whether it’s the Twitter timeline, Instagram feed, or ESPN app, chances are you’ve seen some of the trade scenarios that are out there by now.
So with all the Bulls trade rumors, is it really time for the team to blow things up? We’re no experts at managing NBA franchises, but maybe.
What Bulls Trade Rumors Are Out There?
Where do we even start?
Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine, Nikola Vučević, or even an injured Lonzo Ball. Pretty much any name on the roster has been involved in a Bulls trade rumor these days. With that being said, let’s start with some of the guys who are less likely to be moved at the deadline.
Despite what opposing franchises may be hoping for, we just don’t see the Bulls moving on from Alex Caruso at all. Like a few other guys, he’s practically untouchable as the heart of the defense and foundation for the team’s culture. And Billy Donovan seems to echo the same sentiment.
When Caruso’s on the floor, the Bulls are one of the top defensive units in the entire NBA with a defensive rating of 110.7. And when you give him a breather? That rating drops dramatically to 116.8. A number that’s one of the worst in the league. To add to all of that, he leads the team in plus/minus with +117 on the year.
So, to put it simply, if you see a Bulls trade rumor involving Alex Caruso before February 9, just chalk it up as some classic clickbait and ignore it entirely.
Another guy we’ve seen named by ESPN in their latest NBA trade deadline column. But for us, it’s not happening.
Given the bleak outlook Billy Donovan recently provided on Lonzo Ball’s recovery, odds are few, if any, teams will pursue him at the deadline. Sure, he could be packaged up with another player or two – which is what ESPN proposed in their blockbuster scenario, but we’ll touch on that later. However, with everything going on with Ball, it’d be a bit of a risk for any franchise. Especially since the Bulls likely wouldn’t let him go for nothing.
So Who’s More Likely To Be Dealt?
Honestly, the last two guys on our list from above: Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević.
Since he was named in ESPN’s post, we’ll start with Zach first.
It’s not the craziest of Chicago Bulls trade rumors whenever you see LaVine listed nowadays. After agreeing to a 5-year max contract extension worth $215 million over the summer, LaVine’s first year on his new deal likely isn’t 100% of what the Bulls were hoping for. Some fans probably want to see LaVine moved while others aren’t quite there yet. But, given that he’s entering his prime and has a massive contract, moving him is a possibility.
In ESPN’s proposed trade, the Bulls would send LaVine, Ball, and Javonte Green to the Lakers for Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley, Max Christie, and two unprotected first round picks in 2027 and 2029. That’s a lot of pieces, and IF it happened, it basically signals that the Bulls are electing to start rebuilding. And it’s not entirely out of the question with all the talk about the strained relationship between LaVine and Donovan.
Between all three guys that make up the Chicago Bulls ‘Big Three’, we see Nikola Vučević as the one most likely to be dealt before the 2023 NBA trade deadline.
For starters, things haven’t really panned out for Vučević on the Bulls. He’s the third scoring option behind DeRozan and LaVine, and excluding the past month, hasn’t seemed to mesh well with the Bulls style of play. Additionally, Vučević is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer when he inevitably doesn’t reach an extension with the Bulls.
After giving up two first round picks to acquire him, would the Bulls really want to let him walk for nothing? Not likely.
It’s tough to point to any player on our roster and say that they should go. But with Vučević, it might be time. Should it actually happen, there’s a strong chance that he would add immediate value to whatever team he joined. Especially if he continues playing the way he has the past month.
Only time will tell to see if any such deal occurs. But, if we had to put our money on any Bulls trade rumors this year, it’d be the ones that involve our big guy.
This year’s NBA Trade Deadline is on Thursday, February 9 at 2PM CST, and you can visit the NBA’s website to keep track of all the action.

Pitchfork Music Festival Chicago has quickly become one of the most popular music festivals in the city. With a diverse range of genres on offer, it’s hard not to enjoy the weekend.
Aside from being well organized, the festival also offers a variety of fairs for attendees to purchase art and flack posters. In addition, there is a music house kids zone where you can buy musical instruments and paint.
Japanese Breakfast
While Pitchfork Music Festival is a big deal year after year, this year the Chicago-based music outlet made it feel even more special by showcasing a number of local acts, like Japanese Breakfast. Lead singer Michelle Zauner had a delightful surprise on her second set at Union Park – she was joined by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy!
The pair of musicians duetted on the Jubilee track “Kokomo, IN,” and then a Wilco cover of “Jesus Etc.” It was just the type of charming this-could-only-happen moment that you want to remember from the weekend.
Other highlights included swooning to Indigo De Souza, thrashing to The Armed and Dry Cleaning, bouncing to Tierra Whack and Noname, and getting a move on to Amber Mark and The Roots. All of this made for a weekend of groovy indie tunes with a decidedly Chicago flair.
Lucy Dacus
Virginia’s songwriter Lucy Dacus is part of the “sad indie girls” movement (with Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Mitski). She released her debut album, No Burden, in 2016.
The evocative music on her sophomore album, Historian, finds Dacus looking back at her own coming-of-age experiences for inspiration. She says writing down memories is like crystallizing a moment in time, but the act of writing isn’t always a sure thing.
Her third album, Home Video, focuses on her own coming-of-age experience, borrowing themes from the lyrical journals she’s kept since childhood to write about her own life and those she cares about. She also explores how time condenses around deep emotional attachments to others, whether they’re friends or family.
L’Rain
The National, Mitski and the Roots headline this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, but there are plenty of other interesting acts tucked into this eclectic music fest. With symphonic rock collective Spiritualized, indie-pop outfit Japanese Breakfast, rapper Earl Sweatshirt and reunited emo band Karate to name a few, the three-day event is one of the most varied music festivals in the city.
Sunday started off with the jazzy, lackadaisical rapper Earl Sweatshirt performing alongside DJ Black Noi$e. He brings a zen yet explosive personality to every stage he performs at, whether he’s connecting with the crowd or delivering niche material like internet deep cuts like “E.Coli” that leaked online before debuting on The Alchemist’s Bread EP.
Tierra Whack
Tierra Whack is a bright and lively performer, who’s already established her status as a groundbreaking artist in her own right. Her zany personality and gleefully inappropriate sense of humor pulled her crowd in quickly.
The rain made it hard to see much during the first day of Pitchfork music festival, but it didn’t stop her from delivering a set that was both spirited and colorful. She brought out her manager to help squeegee the stage, and led call-and-response chants with her fans.
She followed up her high-energy set with a more demure performance from Syd, who is also a former Odd Future member. Her songs are a little more low-key than Whack’s, but her lyricism and production quality are no slouches. She even enlisted members of her band The Internet to join her for a few tunes off their recently released fifth album, Hive Mind.
Toro Y Moi
For three days, Union Park in Chicago was a festival hotspot as Pitchfork put on their annual event. Featuring artists from all genres, it has become a staple in the city’s calendar and attracts a diverse crowd.
Day One of the fest was a little damp but still packed with some good music from acts like Band of Horses and Toro Y Moi. The latter is a great example of a artist who doesn’t need to rely on a full band to rock out; their laid-back sound and fun-loving demeanor make them perfect for a festival setting.
Hometown star KAINA was another highlight of the day, bringing elegance to the stage with her sparkling bubble-braid hairstyle and her beautiful blue patchwork dress. She played a number of songs off her newest album It Was a Home as well as fan favorites from her debut album Next to the Sun.

Co-founders Michael Berg and Lucas King cited that particular segment of the audience as one that could benefit from their new direction.
This year, North Coast welcomed iconic electronic artists and a diverse range of immersive experiences. With plenty of vendor options, great vibes and positive energy, it looks to be a festival to watch for many years to come.

From Marshmello, Flume, Zeds Dead and Alison Wonderland, to DJ Snake, Duke Dumont, Gigantic NGHTMRE and Chris Lake, the lineup is filled with the best electronic dance music in the world.
This year, the festival will also feature a variety of art installations, costumed performers and a variety of other activities. In addition to the live music, attendees can enjoy food and beverages.

NCMF is a family-friendly event that welcomes kids of all ages and is surrounded by plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. There are food trucks, craft vendors, and more.
Originally an all-genre festival, NCMF has shifted over the past decade to focus on dance music. This year, major artists include Armin van Buuren, Illenium, Diplo, Kaytranada, Gryffin, Jai Wolf, Madeon, Said the Sky, Seven Lions, and Slander.
Tickets
If you’re ready to get down with some of the best music in the world, North Coast is the place for you. A beloved festival that’s affectionately known as “Summer’s Last Stand,” NCMF returns to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois for a third year this Labor Day weekend.
Tickets for North Coast are available at a variety of tiers, from one-day lawn tickets to VIP tickets for the whole weekend. In an effort to make the event more affordable, ticket tiers were purposefully reworked this year so concert goers can easily find the perfect match for their budget.
If you’re ready to attend this year’s North Coast, you’ll want to pick up your tickets before they’re gone! With a wide range of ticket options, including a deal score feature that ranks tickets by value and tells you if they’re a good deal or not, SeatGeek makes it easy to find the best North Coast Festival Tickets around.
