Parker did not respond to the Reader’s questionnaire, but in a since-deleted Facebook comment, she wrote, “I am a survivor of domestic violence at the hand of a Chicago police officer and was victimized by a system that protects officers. I am an advocate for holding CPD accountable for hiring more Black and Brown officers to be guardians of our neighborhoods!
