Chicago chef Rick Bayless, who operates the Frontera Grill and other acclaimed Mexican restaurants, says his business is at 45% of pre-COVID-19 levels, and that restaurants across Chicago are in danger of closing without federal relief. (E. Jason Wambsgans / Chicago Tribune)
No, Covid-19 by itself did not put restaurants on the brink of bankruptcy. It was and still is those destructive lockdowns and other daggers directed businesses imposed by the fear mongering likes of Illinois Gov. J. B Pritizker.
But as the Chicago0 Tribune reports:
“Celebrity chef Rick Bayless says omicron will devastate Chicago restaurant industry without federal relief: ‘Nobody knows what to do at this point.’
The story neglects to talk about the destructive impact of the beyond-reasonable government restrictions on the restaurant industry, not to mention on every business and every American. Just another example of today’s journalism’s habit of screening out important information that fails to conform to their given wisdom.
