It seems as though nobody wants to talk about the Chicago Bears making a playoff push in 2020.
But, that’s exactly what they are currently poised to do. Believe it or not, these Chicago Bears are the first team out if the 2020 NFL Playoffs started today.
At the moment, the Green Bay Packers lead the NFC North at 7-3 and would be an automatic “in” for the postseason. But, they are headed into a crucial Sunday Night Football matchup with the 5-5 Bears. It’s a night under the lights at Lambeau, and a big game for both teams.
Chicago is reeling, coming off four losses in a row and having their bye week to reassess everything. The Packers, meanwhile, lost a close one in Week 11 to the Indianapolis Colts in overtime. Typically, the Bears don’t want to face Aaron Rodgers coming off a loss, so this could be recipe for disaster.
Yet, there is still a glimmer of hope in terms of playoff chances. The Arizona Cardinals are the seventh and final seed at 6-4 right now, and they are headed into a matchup with the hungry New England Patriots who are on their last leg in regards to a potential playoff berth.
Behind the Cardinals are the Bears, followed by both of Chicago’s other divisional rivals, the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. This season, the playoffs could come down to one of the final weeks of the season, especially given that extra playoff team. If it was any other year, the Cardinals would still be looking in at the postseason with the Bears even further behind.
Thanks to the new playoff seeding, Chicago still has a shot. But, why would they want to pay any mind to the postseason? They have so many issues and not enough potential answers. They hardly have enough bandaids to keep the wounds from bleeding out any further. Why on earth would the Bears want to fight to make the playoffs? Let’s chat.
