Now being realistic, I would be entirely shocked if this happens. It was even reported a few months ago that Rodgers would consider retiring and hosting Jeopardy, (which he is actually quite good at!). I’m not a betting person but I would bet a lot of money on him not retiring. Rodgers has been very quiet about this entire situation and hasn’t talked much about it since this whole saga began the day of the draft. Each time, he has intentionally tried to avoid discussing the situation in-depth.

Either way, if it is true that Aaron Rodgers does retire, which in all likelihood would force Jordan Love into the starting role with absolutely zero NFL playing time, the Bears (and quite honestly the NFC North) would be partying like it’s ’99. It would be the first time in a long time that the Packers would not be the favorites to win the division every single season.

The Chicago Bears would be better off without Aaron Rodgers as a division rival.

Love, who does have a strong arm, never even made the active roster for any of the games his rookie year, and even though the Packers are notorious for developing great quarterbacks, it does seem a little difficult to see him being good immediately. And with the recent news about Davante Adams, that could hurt Love, if Rodgers truly ends up retiring.

The Bears still have a lot of work to do and developing Justin Fields is the biggest task at hand. If he can develop as many expect him to, no matter what happens with Rodgers, the Bears could absolutely run the table in the NFC North for years to come. Here’s to hoping that the Bears fanbase gets even more fun news this offseason.
