In another edition of this hot topic, there is a report surfacing that the Chicago Bears are talking to the Las Vegas Raiders about trading for Derek Carr.
It isn’t going away. The consistent rumor of veteran quarterback Derek Carr going from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Chicago Bears is not going away any time soon.
Over the last month or so, fans have seen plenty of chatter and intrigue when it comes to this topic. It all started to flare up again recently when Carr took to his instagram page and posted a photo of he and former teammate Khalil Mack embracing one another after last year’s game in London.
Between that single photo and the constant rumors about Tom Brady going to Las Vegas to play for Jon Gruden, Bears fans have had their emotions tugged on quite a bit.
Friday night, the saga took another turn. An Atlanta Falcons radio host must have some inside information from a source of his, because he tweeted out a doozy of a report.

Take it for what it’s worth. Sure, this isn’t Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter. But, neither of those guys make a living reporting rumors. They stick to breaking the news.
If Chicago brought in Carr, that would surely spell the end for fourth-year man Mitchell Trubisky, whom Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy each have expressed faith in recently. Those two can say all they want publicly, but if a move like this was made, we would know exactly how they felt behind closed doors.
Trubisky isn’t their guy, and a lot of us know it already. Those who don’t know it will soon know it in the near future. Trubisky is not a franchise quarterback.
Carr, on the other hand, is just that. He’s coming off back to back 4,000-yard seasons and is just a few years removed from an MVP discussion. Coming to Chicago, Carr would immediately make the Bears a Super Bowl contender. From there on out, Pace could focus on filling other holes how he saw fit. But, at least the quarterback position would be solidified.
Going forward, we will continue to monitor this sizzling topic ahead of the legal tampering period, which begins on Monday. Things are heating up, Bears fans. Get ready for a fun, crazy week ahead.
