In this last game, the Bears had to face Joe Burrow. The former Heisman Trophy winner out of LSU has had a very interesting start to his NFL career. He was very good in his rookie season before missing the final seven games of the season due to an injury.

There is a stat that came out of this game that is really cool for Chicago’s defense. Going into this recent game, Burrow had only thrown five total interceptions over his first 11 career games. The kid doesn’t turn the football over a lot at all which is very good for him. However, the Bears’ defense picked him off three times.

The Chicago Bears forced Joe Burrow and the Bengals to turn the ball over a lot.

The funny thing is that all three interceptions were thrown on three consecutive Burrow pass attempts. It was not a good stretch for the upcoming superstar. He did follow it up by having two touchdown drives to get the game close again but he fell just short of winning.

Chicago’s defense is supposed to be its strength this year. When it wasn’t in week one, there was cause for concern. However, having a very good young quarterback like Burrow play badly because you forced him to play badly is a great sign. They almost made him double his entire career interception number on three straight drives. It was a really good game for the defense that is supposed to be elite based on the names.

It will be interesting to see how things go for them against those Browns. Burrow might be a slightly better quarterback than Baker Mayfield but he is a little bit less experienced. Mayfield also plays on a significantly better team that has a significantly better defense to support him. If the defense can play like this all season long and force turnovers, they might win more games than people think. If they don’t, well, they will lose a lot.
