The offseason is coming to a close and the Jack Eichel issue still has not been resolved. His back and forth with the Buffalo Sabres have not led to a solution for either side and he is still a member of their organization. Once it reached early August without a resolution it was clear it might go on a pause while the NHL goes away for about three weeks but now things are picking back up again. The Chicago Blackhawks would checkmate the Central Division if they landed him via trade.
They aren’t in any of the rumors right now or anything but he is a clear fit. If the Hawks had Eichel they would compare with some of the best teams in the Western Conference. It is hard to say that anybody is as good as the Vegas Golden Knights or Colorado Avalanche but they would certainly elevate a tier.
With Jonathan Toews set to return and Tyler Johnson in the mix, they might be able to trade some young centers with high ceilings for Eichel. There are plenty of good trade packages that could be put together in order to acquire a player like this.
Eichel would change everything for Chicago. They already made some quality moves this offseason that should really help out the squad. They believe they are going into this season with a chance at the playoffs.
