Losing Duncan Keith is going to be hard for ChicagoBlackhawks fans to see.
If the Blackhawks lose Duncan Keith, they are probably still losing their best defenseman despite his age. He is also the best defenseman in the history of the franchise and one of its all-time great players. He has won three Stanley Cups, Two Norris Trophies, and one Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs. It has been a Hall of Fame career for Keith.
The Blackhawks probably won’t get much back in a trade for him but they will get a bit of salary cap relief. They will also be continuing their quest to get much younger in the meantime. Keith only has a few years left in the skates but it will certainly be strange seeing him play in another uniform. It is the business of the NHL but it can also be weird at the same time.
