There will be plenty of trades discussed before the 2020 NBA Draft. Could the Chicago Bulls get involved in a 3-team deal?
The countdown is on. We are now less than 72 hours away from the 2020 NBA Draft, and between now and then, lots could (and probably will) happen. The Chicago Bulls are a team to watch, as they possess the 4th overall pick and a new man in charge, Arturas Karnisovas.
Moves will be made, but will they be made in Chicago?
Word on the street is that there are several teams looking to move up in this year’s draft — and it’s an odd year to do so, because this class is nothing out of the ordinary. But, teams are still looking at making a move upwards. Maybe it’s because teams would be more willing to deal top picks. Either way, don’t count out the Bulls from making a trade or two.
Already, we’ve seen the first trade agreed to in principle, which will go through officially later this afternoon. The Los Angeles Lakers are snagging point guard Dennis Schroder from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for swing man Danny Green and the 28th overall pick in the draft.
Guys like Russell Westbrook, Jrue Holiday, Aaron Gordon and Chris Paul could be on the move as well, with others to come. It’s going to be a busy couple of days for the league, and basketball fans should be excited about it.
Bulls fans should be excited about it.
Every so often, a deal requires a third team to get things done. In the following three instances, Chicago could get involved and actually come away with a positive return. How could the Bulls find themselves in such a situation? There are three specific deals I could see as realistic options.
