The Chicago Bulls continue to give us entertainment despite the season being paused, and a recent quote from Scottie Pippen is a loaded one.

The 1990s Chicago Bulls are the gift that keeps on giving. They were the greatest team in the history of professional basketball en route to winning six titles in a span of eight years. They were led by stars Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman while coached by the legendary Phil Jackson. It was quite the bunch that led Chicago to one of the greatest dynasties in the history of sports.

Well, some quotes form Scottie have fans in a tizzy right now. He is out there claiming that Kobe Bryant was better than his former teammate Michael Jordan. Jordan is considered the greatest basketball player who ever lived by many so you would think that his former sidekick would back him up.

“He strived so hard to be Michael Jordan, and when I go back and look at the videos I say to myself: ‘Damn, he was better than Michael Jordan.'” (full video here)

This quote is just now making its waves through the internet but it was one from the All-Star break in January. The Bulls are one of the hot topics in the basketball world right now because of “The Last Dance” had been airing two episodes a week for five weeks. It was a brilliant documentary on the years of the dynasty but not everything was pretty about it.

It seems like there are some underlying issues between some folks involved now as a result of this documentary but this quote was long before anybody had seen it. Now, Pippen seems like one of the bad guys and this quote doesn’t make it look better.

Kobe Bryant was a great player. He also passed away in a helicopter incident earlier in 2020 to start off what has been an awful year all around. Just like every kid his age, he spent his entire life trying to be “like Mike” and he is the only one who came close. With that said, it is hard to say that he reached that apex of Michael. No matter what side of the fence you fall on as far as Kobe vs MJ, you can admit that it is weird for Scottie to be saying that publicly.
