Billy Donovan will look to optimize every player’s strengths on this young Chicago Bulls squad.
Just one week from today, the Chicago Bulls open up the 2020-2021 regular season with a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks. After nine months of waiting, Bulls basketball will be back, and will a brand-new feel to it.
Rejuvenation — that’s what it is. Bulls fans should feel a new sense of excitement and optimism regarding the team now that Billy Donovan is coaching these guys.
Not only is Donovan inspiring confidence, but the new front office as well. Arturas Karnisovas as the new Vice President and Marc Eversley, the general manager, have their players’ respect and buy-in — and you can’t put a price on that.
Will this team be off and running to a 50-win season? Most likely, that won’t be the case. If anything, the expectation of this Bulls team should be to fight their way into the playoffs. In the Eastern Conference, that should leave them competing with just a couple of teams for one of the final two spots.
With a young roster full of athleticism and explosiveness, Donovan has some fun pieces to work with. Knowing how guys like Coby White and Zach LaVine flashed last season, Donovan has to be chomping at the bit to get into a groove with these Bulls.
As the season draws near, we now look at what the rotation will be. The starting lineup seems pretty set, but is it perfect? And how about the reserves? Who should be getting the most time off the bench?
That’s what we attempt to look into here. So this is it: The perfect lineup for the Bulls this coming season.
