However, things have changed drastically and David Ross’ crew could look a whole lot different in a few weeks — for the worse.

It seemed inevitable that the Cubs would eventually break up their core. With how the past few seasons have gone, the writing has been on the wall.

Since their World Series win five years ago, the Cubs have functioned as though winning no longer matters. Moves like allowing Jon Lester to walk away or trading Yu Darvish for practically nothing speak volumes as to just how important winning is to the Ricketts.
