It has been a very tough season for the Chicago Cubs. They have done a lot of losing this year and it led to some big changes. They traded away big names like Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Craig Kimbrel, and Ryan Tepera so you know they are in full rebuild mode now. It has been tough to watch but sometimes these things happen in sports.
Fans just wanted to enjoy their last game of the season at Wrigley Field on Sunday. Unfortunately, they wasted a good opportunity to do that. After leading 2-1 for most of the game, they had a chance to end the St. Louis Cardinals’ incredible winning streak. It was blown in the 8th and 9th inning as St. Louis scored 3 unanswered runs. The Cardinals’ 4-2 win via the comeback was their 16th consecutive victory.
