Draft Class signing update. James Triantos is the only unsigned Top 10 pick, but he expected to come onboard soon. We have yet to hear figures reported for 5th rounder Liam Spence or 10th rounder Peter Matt, but both should come in under slot.
The Cubs 11th and 12th rounders have both announced they intend to honor their college commitments. So, with a lot of bonus pool money still in hand, the Cubs will go hard after the four prep players they chose in rounds 17-20. Signing David Avitia, the older brother of 19th rounder Daniel Avitia surely works as an enhancement. And hey, it is always possible one of Ziehl or Banks change their minds.
