A 15-year-old girl was shot Monday in Washington Park on the South Side.
Authorities responded to the shooting about 3:25 p.m. in the 6100 block of South King Drive, according to Chicago fire officials.
The girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was “stable but serious,” officials said.
Chicago police didn’t immediately release details.
The shooting comes after a violent weekend in the city saw 48 people shot, including a 2-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. At least six of those wounded over the weekend have died.
The number of people shot was almost double what it was last weekend, when five people were killed and 21 others hurt in gun violence across the city.
