In what is probably the first of many Summer Festival postponements and cancellations, Milwaukee World Festival has announced a change in dates for “The World’s Largest Summer Festival.”
In yesterday’s statement President & Chief Executive Officer of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., Don Smiley said, “The music industry has been profoundly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and most live events scheduled for early summer have been cancelled. In the interest of safety and in cooperation with artists, Summerfest 2020 will move to new dates: September 3-5, 10-12 and 17–19, 2020. The new dates provide the best possible option to deliver the Summerfest experience our fans and sponsors have grown to love; we are doing everything possible to continue a tradition which spans five decades.”
Whether all acts will be able to be rescheduled is uncertain at this time.
Called “The World’s Largest Summer Festival,” Summerfest brings in the best of the best in their world-class permanent setting on the Milwaukee Lakefront. The summer celebration features nearly 1000 acts, and performances along with a “Taste of Wisconsin” a boatload of activities and more.
Summerfest in Milwaukee has been drawing Chicagoan’s from their hometown to Brew Town since 1968–12 years before the first Taste of Chicago.
In addition to the big name acts and “Taste of Wisconsin,” the fest offers paddle boating, a carnival, sky diving shows and ziplining.

All purchases of festival tickets will be honored for the rescheduled September dates.
