The male, whose age wasn’t known, was near the sidewalk about 2:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Harding Avenue when someone opened fire.

A person was killed in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Lawndale on the West Side.

The male, whose age wasn’t known, was near the sidewalk about 2:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Harding Avenue when someone opened fire, Chicago police said.

He was shot in the head, legs and back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name hasn’t been released.

Area detectives are investigating.
