So why is James on my RADAR this week? Apparently there is a two-CD compilation coming out that compiles two earlier releases from Sire and Blanco Y Negro, 1986’s Stutter and 1988’s Strip-mine. Both editions have been expanded and remastered in a nice package called Justhipper.
My girl Vegabond returns with “In A Bind.” I love her voice, but I really wish she had a few more tracks on her record that are upbeat like, “Water Me Down.”
So good to have Grouplove back. I’ll still never forget their original single, “Colours,” just an epic adventure. “Inside Out” is a fun romp too.
[embedded content]The Killers are back? I guess, and there’s none more excited. Just last week, on my radar, there was a new single by Brandon Flowers, the same name spelling, different person. The other BF is a rapper. Well anyway, sink your teeth into “Caution.”
[embedded content]Nice to have some new hip-hop from the one and only Count Bass D. That’s right J, he’s back! Talking CBD, and it sounds good.
[embedded content]This Diet Cig song, “Thriving,” is a winner this week, and The Districts finally bring their full-length album to the masses. You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere is here, so let us all deconstruct it.
[embedded content]Ella brings us that little bit of jazz we have been longing for. “Somewhere In The Night,” from the Antibes Jazz Festival on 7/29/64. Definitely an oldie but still a goodie, and what pipes she has.
[embedded content]Oh yeah, new tracks from Surfer Blood and Born Ruffians as well. It was a good day.
