Republicans make phony excuses for not passing gun control legislation when it’s all about the money

Mental health. Video games. Porn. Doors are left open. Unarmed teachers. Feral pigs. And on and on and on.

Whenever there’s a school shooting, such as the one last week in Texas, you can count on the above nonsensical excuses coming out of the mouths of congressional Republicans. Anything to avoid putting the blame on the weapons that were responsible for the mass murders….you know…THE GUNS!!

I get it that the Republicans are afraid of repercussions from the NRA. I get it that they’re more afraid of being cut off from the donations the NRA makes to their campaign war chests.

A majority of Americans don’t want to take away anyone’s guns. All that is wanted is responsible and reasonable gun laws. But, the money trumps what the people want.

The month of June will be spent burying the victims of the shootings at Robb Elementary School. Nineteen students and two teachers are needlessly gone. Their families will be grieving for generations to come. The month of June will also find Republicans making the same nonsensical excuses for the tragedy.

Mental health. Video games. Porn. Doors are left open. Unarmed teachers. Feral pigs. And on and on and on.

Every five years or so I decide to update this section. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for close to ten years. The last time I did this I was close to sixty years old. Now I’m just a few months away from the big 7-ZERO. Scary AF!!! I’m pretty sure I won’t be doing an update when I hit 80, but you never know. But until then, lets just be grateful.
