Reward Yourself
We sometimes wait for other people to give us recognition and praise. We can become disappointed when we do not receive it. We should not give other people control over how we feel about ourselves. We should reward ourselves for our accomplishments and achievements.
Most of us like to receive recognition and accolades; however, we need to learn how to press on regardless of the recognition we receive from others. I have learned that I need to appreciate it when I reach a goal and reward myself. There are inexpensive ways you can reward yourself for reaching a goal. Cook your favorite meal. Take a bubble bath with scented candles around you. Call a supportive friend or family member you have not spoken to in a while. Buy yourself some flowers. Treat yourself to a new outfit from the clearance rack. Take a staycation.
We are quick to put ourselves down for a mistake. We should use that same energy to reward ourselves for an accomplishment. Rewards make you feel good and help to motivate you to reach additional goals. Did you lose weight? Did you finish organizing your closet? Did you start exercising? Did you quit smoking? Whatever personal goal you have accomplished give yourself a reward. Celebrate reaching your goal.

Meet The Blogger
Sheri McIntosh
I have been interested in preventive medicine since my childhood. In the 70s, my aunt would take me with her to meet with a doctor who emphasized preventive medicine. A lot of the things that doctor discussed then has become standard today.
