Entrepreneurism is on the rise, more so than ever it seems. While many successful businesses are owned and operated by adults, several are run by successful kidpreneurs and teens who have already found their paths to success through business ownership.
On Saturday, July 17, Young Biz Kid, an organization that educates and empowers young business owners, will be hosting a series of Young Biz Kid Day (#YBK Day) marketplaces across the country. The marketplaces are each presented by an amazing young business owner and will feature fellow kid-owned businesses.
Local officials in cities like Chicago, St. Louis, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and more have proclaimed July 17 officially as YBK Day. There will be a total of 12 marketplaces, featuring 260 kid business owners across seven states.
The Chicago #YBKDay Marketplace is presented by Jahkil Jackson, a teen entrepreneur, activist, actor, and author. You may be familiar with the name as he is widely known for his passion for supporting the homeless via Project I Am, the organization he founded at eight years old. Jahkil has been recognized by the likes of President Obama, Disney and more, and continues to encourage fellow youth to pursue their dreams now via his tagline, “Don’t Wait to Be Great.”
Feel free to stop by the Chicago YBK Day marketplace tomorrow (July 17) at Connect Gallery in Hyde Park to support Jahkil and other amazing kid business owners. To look for the YBK Day marketplace near you, go to ybkday.org for a full list of marketplaces and presenters.
