Teen among 2 hurt after shots fired in West Garfield ParkSun-Times Wireon May 9, 2020 at 2:50 am

A 17-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man were hurt after someone opened fire Friday in West Garfield Park.

They were on a sidewalk about 9 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Maypole Avenue when a beige-colored vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Chicago police said.

The duo suffered injuries as they moved to avoid the gunfire and were not shot, police said.

Police originally reported the pair suffered gunshot wounds.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
