The Charlatans Tim Burgess is back with a new album, I Love The New Sky and a new book, One Two Another. Unfortunately, for those interested in the book, you won’t be able to read it, unless it’s released in a digital format in the states. Right now, as told by his press person, “the book is only available in the UK.” So, because I don’t live in the UK, I can’t read it? “That’s right,” she said.
Well, I tried. I would really love to review this book and write about it, but for now, that’s not going to happen. At this time it is not available in the states on kindle format.
So, let’s talk about his new album, due out on May 22nd. It’s his fifth solo album, and this week we got a taste of his 2nd single called “Mall.” It’s a little slower than the lead single “Empathy For The Devil,” which Tim calls a breakfast banger. It’s definitely something you’d like to up wake to, bubbly and upbeat. He also “made a video for it in Brussels.” and says, “It’s like a little movie, hope you like it.”
Tim and his band had to postpone the rest of their tour dates until October, and The Charlatans had to postpone their festival dates this summer, as well, due to the Coronavirus.
The good news is while planning upcoming dates, The Charlatans came across an original demo for the song that started it all, “Indian Rope.” It still sounds amazing! Here’s a message from the band about the release.
Available for the first time, here’s the demo recording of “Indian Rope.” Thanks to everyone who’s helped us track down these rarities that we’ll be sharing with you. We’ve always said that Charlatans fans are the best in the world and it’s true. –The Charlatans
