The Worst Thanksgiving Scene in a Movie
Welcome to Cut Up. A video series where I talk about specific scenes in movies and cut them up or constantly dive back into the Sandlerverse.
This time we’re talking about Jack and Jill released in 2011. I already talked about this film in my Ranking of Every Adam Sandler Movie videos, but I want to talk about what I think might be the worst Thanksgiving scene in a movie I’ve ever seen.
By the time the Thanksgiving scene is over in Jack and Jill I felt like I had lived a thousand lifetimes. The scene is only 6 minutes long, but this movie affects space and time.
You would think that it would be pretty easy to make a scene have a thanksgiving feel. It’s a pretty buy the books holiday with staples that everyone knows that make it easy to convey what you want to the audience. It’s so simple. All you need is family and food! Jack and Jill somehow gets both of these wrong.
Watch the video above for a full breakdown of Jack and Jill’s Thanksgiving day atrocity.
