I’ve Got The Hippy Shakes
We’ve made it to the Final Four: Who gets to the championship game?
It started as a tournament of upsets. Higher seed after higher seed going down to massive underdogs. But, as usually happens in the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament, the cream rises to the top. Yeah, the upsets are what makes it fun, but the champion is almost always a team that has earned their high ranking during the regular season.
We’re down to the Final Four. Two of the number one seeds have survived and have looked impressive in doing so. Only one Cinderella is left. By Monday night, we’ll have a new champion. Here’s how Saturday will go down:
Game 1-Baylor vs Houston
Baylor was the equal of Gonzaga as the clear head of the class for most of the season. Then Covid-19 hit the team and they had some stumbles down the stretch. They’ve looked solid during their four-game tournament run and are favorites to continue on. Houston has had its best tournament in more than three decades. It’s their first Final Four appearance since the days of Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon. Kelvin Sampson and his staff have done a miraculous job rebuilding this program. His reputation was shattered after leaving both Indiana and Oklahoma on probation. Redemption is sweet, but it won’t be enough today. The battle of Texas goes to the Bears. Baylor to the championship game!
Game 2-Gonzaga vs UCLA
The battle of the west coast games is a David vs Goliath situation. Who would have guessed that Gonzaga is Goliath. UCLA is the one real underdog left. While it wasn’t pretty, they played a very smart game in upsetting Michigan to get to this game. Gonzaga played brilliantly in defeating Southern Cal. Even though the Mobley brothers combined for thirty-six points, the Zags dominated the game from beginning to end. Gonzaga has three players who were awarded All-American honors this season. If you hold one down, the other two can and will beat you. They can score inside and outside, run the floor relentlessly and when you think you’ve got them reeling, they get on a run and out of nowhere you’re down fifteen points. This will be the Bruins nineteenth Final Four appearance which eleven championships. The problem is Jabbar, Walton, Goodrich, and John Wooden won’t be on the court in Indianapolis on Saturday. Jalen Suggs, Drew Timme and Corey Kispert will be for Gonzaga. That will be enough for the Zags to win easily. Gonzaga to the championship game!
Baylor vs Gonzaga is the game college basketball fans have wanted to see all season. They were scheduled to play in December, but the game was scrapped due to Covid-19 issues. If Saturday holds to form, we’ll see it play out on Monday night to see who is the best in college basketball in 2021.

Meet The Blogger
Howard Moore
My so called friends think it’s time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don’t tell them that. I’ll deny it until they die!
I can’t believe I’ve been writing this blog for four years.
It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don’t know how to describe it anymore.
I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we’re good for four more years..God help us all!
Oh yeah…the biographical stuff. I’m not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog. -
