I’ve Got The Hippy Shakes
What do the Grammy’s offer for baby boomers?
Taylor Swift, BTS, Billie Eilish, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, Harry Styles, Black Pumas, Cardi B, Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Mickey Guyton, Haim, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, Lil Baby, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Post Malone.
Those are some of the biggest stars in the world of popular music. They’ll be the performers at tonight’s Grammy Awards. If you’re a baby boomer, how many of them do you know? Can you name a song from any of these artists? ONE SONG!!
Where are the performers from my generation? No Paul or Ringo? No Mick? Not even Bruuuuuuccccce? Why not? I realize the demographics say that the Grammys should aim towards younger viewers, but not a single performer aimed towards viewers age fifty and up?
It’s not as if all the veteran artists from the sixties and seventies have died or retired. Many of them are still active, making new albums and would still be performing live if there wasn’t a worldwide pandemic. Albums from McCartney, Springsteen and Bob Dylan received rave ratings and made many of the best of 2020 year-end lists. Why aren’t they on the show? Were they even asked?
I don’t want to be that keep off the lawn kind of guy, although I realize that every word of this has me heading in that direction. I only want to know, what are the Grammys doing to keep me interested enough to watch a three hour broadcast? Sadly, I already know the answer….nothing.

Meet The Blogger
Howard Moore
My so called friends think it’s time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don’t tell them that. I’ll deny it until they die!
I can’t believe I’ve been writing this blog for four years.
It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don’t know how to describe it anymore.
I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we’re good for four more years..God help us all!
Oh yeah…the biographical stuff. I’m not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog. -
