There are so many things I had not done in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. It was hard to make myself start doing things again after so much time isolated and at home. Since I was fully vaccinated in April, I started going out to eat and to doctor appointments. There were still things I avoided like haircuts and movies. This weekend changed all of that. On Friday, I went to see the movie Eternals; I got my haircut on Saturday, and then went to a play today, on Sunday. I did wear a mask during these events, but it felt good to resume normal life. It made me grateful to the people who have worked this entire time, wearing masks. Lindsey, the wonderful woman who cut my hair said that it was hard at first to wear the mask all day, but now she sometimes will be driving home before she realizes she is still wearing it. Now that I am going back out more for work and fun, I hope I can get used to wearing it also. I can’t even imagine what the holidays will be like seeing family and friends again. I already feel overwhelming gratitude that I will be with my loved ones to celebrate. How about you; have you started doing things again?
