As 2021 winds to a close, I reflect on the good as well as the bad this year has brought. I wonder whether the year 2022 will be any better for me and for the world? Can we get this pandemic under control or will illness and death continue? How will the people and the world change with either of those two outcomes? I am hopeful. I believe in the best of myself, from people, and from the world even if we struggle and fail sometimes. While I too have struggled with loneliness and sadness this year, I have also had great moments of joy when I bought my own place, a lifelong dream. I also experienced immense gratitude when I was able to spend time with my loved ones. I think 2020 and 2021 will always be thought of as a time of great loss and hardship, but can 2022 be remembered as recovery, growth, and change? I vow to learn about myself and about the world and others through these difficult times. I am not sure where I will land in 2022, but I as my blog states “All through my day, no matter where I go, or what I do, I am always looking for the good in people, in the world, in my life or even just in my day.” I hope you will join me in that vision, for peace and purpose in 2022.
